I'm not sure if it's them playing throughout the whole drama since a lot of the pieces are very difficult, but they are both actually quite proficient at the piano in real life. Ueno Juri has been playing since elementary school and Tameaka Hiroshi has a good musical background. But they both had to undergo major cram sessions in order to prepare for the filming. It's one thing to play like a godlike concert pianist, but it's another to LOOK like you're playing like a godlike concert pianist.
